Education with Purpose has commenced mobilisation for its new project – EWP Online Academy – to bridge learning gaps during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Calling on volunteers that have major professional, academic and vocational skills, the group said their participation will help provide students with relevant study materials and lead to their overall development.
Speaking on the need to take up such initiative, Team Leader, Gbenga Oyewole, said: “Technology advancement has become a force to reckon with globally. It is no hidden fact that Africa has not taken full advantage of its potentials.
“Now that we are battling with a pandemic, we are forced to adopt technology in our day to day activities; to the extent that classrooms are coordinated online via Google classroom, Zoom, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.”
Oyewole urged secondary schools to utilise the digital learning by uploading subjects online for students’ use.
“Primary and secondary schools should develop website and apps that will represent their school virtually. We therefore invite passionate individuals to come on board”, he added.
